I realize this is a presidential election year and quite a few of you feel VERY strongly about your candidate. More power to you! However, please do not include anything political in your signature block. Signatures can be seem all over the Board and some people would rather not have political advertising in their faces. This includes (but is not limited to) quotes, pics & banners.

You are free to post your political views all over the Politics Forum if you like. Just be prepared to hear from other people who have differing views. Very Happy

I appreciate everyone working together to make this a fun, restful place to be. hug hug hug

EDIT:

This includes avatars as well.

This month is Presidential avatar month. Maybe I should have made it clear but I do not want avatars of the real candidates. Rather I am looking for avatars of people you would hope were running for President (even if it is an unrealistic fantasy such as my avatar).

Politics and religion tend to bring out VERY strong views in people. While I can appreciate those views and support each of you whole heartedly in your expression of those views - to be fair to everyone - we have to restrict the expression of those views to certain areas of the Board.

I hope everyone can understand why a rule like this is necessary.

Theresa is absolutely right. Let's stay away from controversial subjects such as politics and religion. Let's stick to "safe" subjects like abortion or gay marriages... Laugh Out Loud

Theresa,

Does this apply to everyone? I've personally never posted any political items in my avatar or signature blocks (unless you count peace signs on New Years Laugh Out Loud ).

I've noticed not everyone has complied with this request.

It seems that either everyone should be required to comply, or, everyone should be allowed to post their political propaganda.

I'm not tyring to be a trouble maker. I know you job's not easy. hug hug

To be honest Jen, I don't always notice people's signatures and avatars. If anyone notices someone's signature/avatar that isn't "in line" with this rule - just PM me and I will approach them and ask that they correct this issue.

Ducky you are right. Sorry, I didn't even notice.

Jim - your signature does not (blatantly) give away your party, so it is fine.

In the spirit of bipartisanship and because the race will wind up like this anyway,

maybe you'll like the new avatar better.

That would have been my preference, too, but when publicly-titled "trouble makers" continually insist on public instigation, this is what happens.
