NOTE: This tutorial is based on Nero Ultra Edition 6.
If you are trying to burn an video file with subtitles, you must first hard encode the subs. Please see this tutorial for those instructions - Adding Permanent Subtitles

Open Nero Smart Start

Repeat these 2 steps to add more titles

LOL mine is purple because I changed the skin.

Contact Nero it sounds like a problem with their program. Make sure you have their "Info Tool" downloaded as well. They will want that report.

I wish I could help you more, but it is very difficult to remotely diagnose someone else's computer.

You are going to have to contact Nero then. I bought Nero Ultra 6 and it came with Vision Express 2. I then updated it to Vision Express 3 on their site.

Yes, it is VERY easy to use and the results are great.

I do these tutorials hoping that people will try it. Once they try and see how easy it is hopefully, some of the "mystery" and fear around computers will fade.

Oh hey mtlandis!! I FINALLY DID IT!! i managed to get nero vision express to work.. i reinstalled the latest from Nero.. and uninstalled my Ultra 6, and got premium 7 instead.. so i managed to get my first DVD going!! HURRAH.. again all thanx to you.. Praise you! i wouldnt have done it without your help..

One little problem now, u mentioned u could put in 3-4 eppies.. I only managed two.. And the odd thing is, despite the fact that they are all 700mb, the second dvd i tried making, wouldnt even let me put in 2 eppies.. so i was wondering how would i be able to overcome the problem? i kinda expected to be able to put in 3-4 eppies as well.. or the very least 2 eppies.. what's wrong?

I was going to give you karma for finally getting it - but you have your karma disabled. Anyway - Congrats!!!!!!

Now about putting more episodes on the DVD. Try this, go ahead and add the 3rd episode. You should get a dialog box that pops up and says something like do you want to use SUper Long Play. You want to click Yes. That will then enable you to continue adding episodes.

I am not at home right now so I can't do any screenshots for you. However, if you look on Nero's site they do have some very nice guides to help you with all this.

Its full title is "Nero - burning Rom" - a pun on "Nero - burning Rome", which all you cultured people would have noticed Evil / Twisted

From the blurb:

"The program's name is intended to be a play on words. Recording CDs and DVDs is often known as "burning", and the infamous Roman Emperor Nero is said to have played his fiddle as Rome burned. This pun is more obvious in the original German as the German name for Rome is Rom (a literal English translation would be Nero Burning Rome)."

Ah I get it - not that I care - but I get it.

Karma for that useless bit of info.

It is possible the DVD was bad. That happens once in a while.

Also - check your DVD player. No disk usually means it doesn't recognize that format. i.e. you are using DVD-R's and you player only reads DVD+R.

well i tried burning again on the same dvd just to make sure the dvd has gone bad, and the same results appeared.. I got worried that my dvd writer broke down, so i am now using the writer to burn some data on the normal nero burning rom..

My writer works for both - and + ... so i don't think it's the writer.. I am just curious as to how it happened..i remembered using the super long play u suggested..and did the things u advised me to.. But it did not work! hmm.... i will try again on a brand new dvd.. after i test my writer is working fine!! Confused

sometimes the "no disc" error also could mean that brand of disc is just not compatible with your dvd player. if you haven't burnt anything on those dvds before and watched it then it's a possibility. also nero sometimes has issues "completing" dvd burns. you may want to try to update it - the website does offer some updates generally.

I think I know what your problem is!

Take a look at this pic:

Are you sure when you get to this point you are choosing your burner? If you are choosing the Image Recorder, you are simply copying the files to the computer NOT burning them to DVD.

Also, as you burn - is the "green" light on the front of the DVD drive lighting up?

You should be able to as nothing was done to the DVD if you were sending the file to the image recorder.

Congrats!

Try searching your PC for those files in the image recorder. You will might find them. Then you can delete them.
