Jungsang is definat against 1/2 a dozen warriors. He fights their leader, Sa Bogu. SB winds up cheating and JS is badly injured.

3 days later his wife awakes in a cottage. The couple who found her plan to turn her in for money.

Gaesoman's men assure him that Dalgi (JS' wife) and Joyoung (the baby) must have died. Later GS goes to see the recovering JS and tells him that his wife and child are dead. GS orders JS to go to Goryeo Fort (near the Great Wall). After JS leaves, GS finds out about Dalgi and goes to see her. He tells her that she and the child will live but only if GS can take the child. She agrees.

We move forward in time - Bekjae crumbles under pressure from Shilla and Tang, Empress Wu of Tang is gaining power and the civilian authorites lead by Bu Kiwon gain power.

GS' son prepares for a martial arts contest. Geodong (DJY) is a serf on GS' estate. He wants to compete but is denied. Later he approaches GS but is turned down again. GS' son tells him that only a recommendation from Manchun will get him into the contest.

Later, Geodong steals a map and a horse and goes to Liaodang to see Manchun. Manchun has him fight Liaodang's best warrior. Geodong wins but Manchun hesitates on giving him a recommendation. Geodong tells him that he wishes to be a warrior.

Xue Rengui arrives at the Imperial Palace and offers a marriage between Tang's Prince and Goguryeo's Princess. GS is against it but Kiwon is for it. The King dismisses everyone but later meets with the civilian authorities. they talk him into sending his niece, Lady Sukyoung to Tang. GS is miffed he is left out of the discussion and later threatens Kiwon.

GS' son tells Lady Sukyoung about the marriage and then flirts a bit. She doesn't seem interested.

Geodong returns with his recommendation. GS rips up the letter and tells Geodong he can still not enter the contest.

 

"Liaodang's best warrior" is quite a cutie.

I hope we see more of him.
(sorry i don't have anything deeper to add. )
But I'm loving the show so far.

I thought of something a little deeper.
If i had someone who maybe, one day, might be the emperor i don't think i would use him as a stepping stool.
I mean i understand he's trying to keep him down so he doesn't become a king but just in case, just in case wouldn't you want the maybe king to like you?
I can see a lot of people who are going to get burned later on.
and i have mixed feeling on the royal niece who seems to like fighting.
I think the warrior girl in IYSS was one of my all time favs but it's been done a few times now and it never works out well for the girl.

Hey guess who "Liaodang's best warrior" is?? Someone from the historical group (i think it may be Bob but not positive) just pointed it out and I can't believe we didn't catch it also. Min Joo, you watched IYSS didn't you? I know Cathy did.

Liaodang's warrior is the King from IYSS! I had to go back and watch last night's episode again and sure enough it's him. I like the way he looks better in DJY, he does look like a cutie in this!

You're right. He was played by Jo Min Ki (yellow handkerchief) in the first few episodes, but the other guy in the rest.

I think he's Choi Chul Ho....but I'm not gonna stake the farm on it!

It's hard to tell because they butchered the character's name and ran it all together.

Could be Kul, or Gil, Or Gul, or Kil....
