You know how he hates CSJ's sensitive side!!

This guy is the reason I began watching Korean Dramas in the first place. Emperor Wang Guhn was about 50 episodes into its first run here in Philly. I watched one night and got hooked.

Sounds very "sour"............ What did you give your wife for Father's day then, Korean Jason Oppa????? Is it also father's day in Korea? It's not Father's day in TW.

Over the course of the past month I have been privileged to watch 2 great dramas, namely On the Prairie and When she Beckons, both with Choi Su Jong. Unlike James, who I haven't really met yet, it is CJS's sensitive side that appeals to me. One of the reasons I watch K drama is that it helps me release some of my pent up feelings from day to day life and whenever I watch CSJ I can literally feel my heart bursting in two.

I first noticed CSJ when I watched First Love. Initially I bought the series b/c it starred BYJ but by the end CSJ had stolen a place in my heart. His character was so beautiful, so gentle, so wise, and so forgiving and my heart broke to watch his struggles, especially after the terrible accident.

My admiration for him has grown enormously over the past year and it was so frustrating having to wait for part 2 of On the Prairie to be released. BUT let me tell you, it was well worth the wait. Watching him in On the Prairie was an absolute joy and watching the developing relationship b/w him and Chae Rim was pure magic. I must confess the second lead couple drove me crazy, not so much CSJ's brother but the girl! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I kept on saying to myself, if she cries one more time, I'm seriously going to hit the tv, the dvd, the roof. Fortunately, after my first viewing, I knew their story, so I can now fast forward all her scenes.

When She Beckons is a very old drama and the only copy I could get my hands on is dubbed is Mandarin. Sacrilige I know but when I get hooked I will do anything to watch and so I put my prejudices aside and went along for the ride. It's a beautiful drama about the love b/w a deaf and dumb girl and a police officer, who first meets her, when he's arresting her brother. [this of course will have NO bearing on their relationship. Yeah right!] I remember when I first watched On the Prairie thinking how good CSJ's signing was in the hospital scene and lo and behold when I watched this drama, the reason became clear. I cannot recommend this drama highly enough. Naturally, it would be better if you could get it in Korean language but the scenes b/w CSJ and Kim Ji Soo are filled with longing, with tenderness and with this incredible love that transcends speech.

If anyone can help me find any other of CSJ's early dramas I would be eternally grateful, especially, Jealousy, Emperor Wang [ I can watch this off the KBs site but the thought of sitting in front of my computer for 200 episodes is a little but off putting.] and Blowing in the Wind. BTW, Theresa, whenever I try to get into CSJ's official site I get rejected. If you could help me I'd really appreciate it.

Anyway, next up for me is First Love, again, but this time UNCUT. I'm so excited and I can hardly wait to travel down memory lane with Manny.

Choi Su Jong's Jealousy was what got me into Korean dramas. Unfortunately, it is 13 years old and it would be very difficult to find it. Last year, Choi Su Jong and Choi Jin Sil of Jealousy were reunited in a drama called War of Roses. You might want to check it out.

I have no idea why you can't get on CSJ's official site. Have you tried cleaning out your temp files & cookies? Make sure to close all browser windows as well.

I also became hooked on K dramas thanks to CSJ. I caught him playing EWG and was hooked.

 

Chinohills, I've watched a bit of War of the Roses but it didn't really take my fancy. I've put an order in with sensasion for Jealousy but they said it might be out of stock and if that's the case, then it's down to my local Chinese video store, to hunt around their Korean drama section. Sometimes, they have some of the very old dramas, even if they're poorly dubbed in Mandarin. My other hope is that when I'm in HK later on this year I might find a few pirated series.

Theresa, the official site is soojong.wellmadeenter, isn't it? Let me tell you, no matter what I do I can't get in there. However, I will contimue trying and hopefully God will smile on me soon.

Okay... for some reasons... I found this one... It's a CF Mr. CSJ and his lovely wife Ms. HHR(Moon hee in TBWY) shot together! I still want to say that... he has baby face!!! really!!!

I can't follow what they said... but I read the words that when HHR sat there and being put on make up, her hubby CSJ stood by... and the reporter asked him when they were home, how does she look without make up? He said: as pretty as always. And then the reporter asked the wife HHR the same Q about CSJ... of course she said: as handsome as always!
Man... no wonder they are the "best couple" in Korean show business... and no wonder Korean Jason Oppa and all the other men in Korea hate him...

As I may have mentioned before, I believe the key to CSJ's appeal really lies in how he projects his true personality and character, especially when he is playing a tragic romantic figure such as Chan-hyuk in FIRST LOVE....He exudes warmth instead of sex appeal and when paired with the likes of beauty queens like Lee Seung-yun, the results are simply MAGICAL!
