It was a dark and stormy thread.
The rain beat down on the soju tent where Lucas sat, drowning his sorrows.
The Seoul rain kept most of the customers away, so the tent owner devoted more time than usual to the bedraggled, beret-wearing foreigner. But Lucas didn't even notice her wink and slightly gap-toothed smile. His gaze turned inward as he mulled over the events of the past three days.

It had all started with an innocent-sounding phone call...

Lucas woke up from his sleep and reached for his cel...

"Hello? Whoever it is, do you know it's three in the morning?"

"Lucas? Hey it's me, Greg!"
"Greg? I know no one named Greg, especially since I have this nasty hangover..."

"Hey remember me? Your manager.... The guy whose gonna make you a million bucks...some day...."

"Oh, that Greg...Don't call us, We'll call you...."

"Hey, Don't hang up on me now....I just got you a guest spot on the hottest show in town....You'll be appearing on UNSOLVED MYSTERIES next week...."

"Thank you, Greg...I'm so beholden to you," Lucas said, sarcastically. "This gotta be better than the time you booked me on Springer...along with Bubba, the transvestite redneck..."

Suddenly, the door bell rang....

Lucas stumbled to the door, still rubbing his eyes, and slowly opened it a crack. "Yes?"

"Delivery for an L. Brown? Sign here" said a brusque voice. Lucas signed the clipboard pushed through the door and a small package wrapped in brown paper was placed into his hands. Lucas glanced briefly at the return address, and realized that there was an international postage mark, in some sort of Asian characters. Korean? Could be . . . he sat down and started to undo the wrapping when . . .

...suddenly, he stopped, abruptly.

"Whattaminute...why did I get this at three in the morning?" He said, anxiously. "Ohhh, what I am so worried about...." He chided himself for his needless anxiety. "I'm still here in Philly, the "city that never sleeps!" Nothing unusual about early morning deliveries...."

After unwrapping the package, Lucas opened a box that contained a small cassette player with headphones and a tape inside. Taped on the inside of the cover was an ID picture of an Asian man, possibly Korean and somehow familiar.

"How quaint. a Sony Walkman circa 1982; I wanted one of these for my collection. But what's this? A cassette tape? And a photo? Hmmm...I've seen him before...."

He pressed the "on" button. What he heard would transform his life forever.

"Good morning Mr. Brown. That is a picture of Kim Jong-Il, the dictator of North Korea. The CIA has received top-secret information that he is planning on kidnapping twelve of the most popular and beautiful actresses in South Korea in order to add to his harem of aging hand-me-downs from his father, the late Kim Il-Sung. Your mission, if you decide to accept, is to stop Kim's thugs from accomplishing their mission, insuring that your favorite K-drama, The Bizarre Bunch, will avoid cancellation. As always, if you and any of your IM force are killed or captured, the Korean Drama Group will disavow any knowledge of your operation. Good luck, Lucas."

Lucas fell on his bed all upet. "Gee, why do these things come up just when I'm ready to go on vacation..."

Meanwhile, weird things were happening in New York City....
