The ring has a unique cut that has been discontinued; therefore would catch the eye of any cuda "wife" with an ulterior motive. Rolling Eyes

Thank you so much Min Joo... I guess I needed the Karma but it's early. My birthday is the 24th so I will celebrate at the Willow Grove meetup on the 20th.

One question, can Cuda mom's eyes get any bigger?
That lady's gonna have kittens soon.

Also I think Cheol just brought a ticket to crazy town.

Yes! I hope so - I've loved these last 2 epis for that reason, that finally we're getting closer to the sh*t hitting the fan....ok I guess we're covered the metaphors for the ensuing debacle haha.

I also loved the sweet hug between Jinwu and Nayun.....although I was yelling "kiss" at the screen a second before in anticipation. Yeah right like they'd really do that in a kdrama this early in the romance. How scandalous that would be Rolling Eyes

*lol*.. you and I are of the same mindset...I was yelling at the screen "Kiss her already, kiss her"...my husband (who was not in the room at the time) came running in "What's the matter, what's wrong" *lol* He thought something had happened. When I told him what I was doing, he just shook his head and told me that I was nuts. The hug was so sweet. Usually the girl just stands there like a lead balloon with her arms glued to her sides. What made this hug so special was that she soon picked up her arms and put them around Jinwu too. Very tender moment.

Cudamom is nuts...why do they keep showing her clenching whatever is closest to her at the moment? Is there something wrong with her hands? I'm serious...is this supposed to communicate that she's upset? We get that point...screen doesn't always have to go to her darn hands (which you know it's going to do just that...you can almost count the seconds where you are going to get the closeup of "the hand" Rolling Eyes

Cheol - totally delusional Eek !

Hahaha Laugh .....my favorite is the closeup of her shaky hand on the doorknob after she leaves a room nervously....which they've done about 3 times by now. Rolling Eyes

I have noticed the hand clenching also!! Eek !

But so far I think they are doing to show the beautiful rings she has been wearing lately!

Last night's episoed with the fur wrap and pearls, they had a close up of her diamond and pearl ring!!

I could have slapped Cuda Mom for that ring and wrap!!

All of her other rings have been nice, but not as great as the pearl and diamond one.

Also I have noticed that she speaks to Mr Lee better than she does her spouse!

I am tired of her apologizing to spouse the next day for her language/reaction.

Ooooh, sorry you fell asleep..how this helps -

Mr. Kang stuck up for Nageun telling cudamom they needed to cancel wedding (but first, Nageun said in front of parents something like "Mom, don't you care about me, don't you care if I'm happy or not, don't you love me? Let's tell the real reason why you want me to marry Mr. Lee", etc. etc., etc. Nageun also told cudamom she was back with Jinwu. But then cudamom goes behind Mr. Kang's back and meets with Mr. Lee telling him to hang in there that she will fix this problem..and that perhaps the best way to do so is to talk to Jinwu directly.

Pretty much same ole', same ole...with rest of story - Dongia still wringing her hands over Jinwu * Naguen (although last scene shows Dongia waiting in a cafe to meet with Naguen to tell her to stay after from Jinwu no doubt.)

Junwu & mechanic lady met with Junwu's mother. Junwu's mother said that she is going to say that neither of them have been married before so she can save face in front of her friends. Sunyeon was there and MIL asked if this was okay, Sunyeon replied "Don't worry, I know what to say." Pretty damn nervy of this potential MIL to ask.

Cudamom called Cheol's dad to arrange meeting to discuss wedding (even after Mr. Kang told her he wanted it cancelled)...so dad and aunt went to meet her.

that was my favorite part where Nayun got her nerve back. " don't you want me to be happy?" Finally!
And yeah Praise you! for Jinwu for sticking with the J company!

Yes, Jinwu is such a genuine, sincere person...I loved the smile on his boss's face, he was soooo happy.

Naguen's speech broke my heart, it was so pleading...it would have broke anyone down, except cudamom. I never saw such a selfish woman as this one. As long as she's okay, everyone else gets kicked to the curb. She better get some comeuppance at the end of this thing. This is what makes me so mad about Kdramas...no one ever has to pay. I thought that's what karma was all about - what goes around comes around? Not in these shows it seems. Rolling Eyes

Attention Dalies Crowd:
I thought I'd let you know, Iron Empress/Empress Chun chu ended on Saturday and has been replaced by a modern family drama called Three Brothers.

It comes one Saturday and Sunday at 10pm on Mindtv.

Because I lost MindTV for months, I only started watching Jolly Widows around episode 75. What I still can't figure out is how the alternate title "Everybody Cha Cha Cha" (and the goofy musical intro) relates to the story line. Does anyone have a theory?

Also, who gives the dramas their English titles? The network that produces them? And why are there often two very different titles, as in this drama? It makes it really hard to find episodes online. Why not just translate the Korean title? (Is it Jolly Widows in Korean?)

Also in this forum, what does "cudamom" mean? (I know who it refers to.)

Thanks for any enlightenment you can offer.

What I still can't figure out is how the alternate title "Everybody Cha Cha Cha" relates to the story line.

You'll see this in a few weeks. It's not a spoiler - it's not even a part of the story line. It's really a throwaway line. You'll see what it refers to and then be disappointed ("I waited over 100 episodes for THAT?").

(I know - you started at 75)

It literally translates to "Everybody Cha cha cha"

"Everybody Cha cha cha" appears to be an old Trot song
I found some clips of popular boy bands singing it on youtube
Shinee

It was even the name of an episode of Drama City

It could have some meaning to Koreans we don't get.Razz
Like if we called a show Dancing Queen (after the Abba song.)

They've gotten better, some of the old translations we're totally left field. Laugh Out Loud

Btw, you can watch EEC at Mysoju and Dramastyle up to 70

You have to go all the way back to Sam Cooke in 1959:

Great explanation above BTW

I guessed it to be like "everybody dance" or something.
You know like "dancing" around people avoiding them and not realizing they are your flesh in blood. LOL

Thanks to everybody who responded to my questions about the two titles, though I'm still baffled by the cha cha aspect. Maybe it'll make a bit more sense after that episode 100-something that BobL referred to.

Min Joo: I've watched some early episodes on Mysoju, but about half the episodes there are broken. When I try Dramastyle, all I get is a white screen -- no video. Do I have to register to see videos there? Or am I missing some other step?

Thanks, Doris

I don't know that the thing I saw is THE reason cha-cha is in the title. It's just the first thing I've seen that mentions it.

Actually, it would make little sense if that was the reason, but sense it usually not in abundant supply in K-dramas, so who knows.

Post when you see it - I'd like to hear your interpretation.

All I know is that the opening tends to make one think this is some sort of night club act or something. When I first saw it, I was thinking that they were a showbiz family.
