You got it, Jigsaw. Most people are more familiar with the way she looked in her later years, but that's her when she was younger. One of my favorite authors, by the way.

I knew she looked familiar. It wasn't until you said Asian Literature that I got it. Yea! I finally got one.

This was going to be my final clue, which would have given it away for sure:

Thanks....but it was simple.
"Amadeus" was one of my youngest daughter's favorite movies.
She sat on the floor for several years, watching the video of Tom Hulce
and F. Murray Abraham play good guy vs. bad guy. Snappy music, too. Very Happy
So I've probably seen that movie more times than those 2 actors have!

If you're looking for Onslow or the "Keeping Up Appearances" replies, I've split the topic to start a new one.

Look for "Keeping Up Appearances"(British comedy) in the "General TV & Movies" forum.

Cat B suggested I post this image because she thinks it'll be difficult for you all to guess who it is.

I disagree - you guys are too hip.

(but I hope she's right)

The only hint: I took this picture a loooong time ago:

He looks like Audie Murphy, the most decorated US soldier
of World War II, and later on, a movie star.
But he never had a movie role as a singer........did he?

Bwahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!! Evil / Twisted

Background: I was looking thru Bob's site, enjoying all the little stories about his pictures, and came across this early picture of a VERY popular band.
Totally doesn't look like that now. Laugh Out Loud

I just found an even earlier shot of our mystery guest (not mine), but I don't think it's gonna help much. It'll probably throw you off more. But it WILL amaze you when you find out who it is.

(and no - it's not Burt Reynolds)

Does the answer count if I cheated?? I looked through Bob's pictures on his website and I found it. To tell the truth, I wouldn't recognize this guy anyway. I don't listen to rock music, and although I've heard of the name of the band, I've never heard their music nor seen them.

But anyway, here's the answer (I'm putting it in spoiler tags just in case someone else want to take a legitimate stab at it):

Spoiler (Click here to reveal) :

Drag your cursor over the words to see the answer: ---Billy Gibbons of ZZTop---

And yes, looking at the newer photos, today he doesn't look in the least like he did back then.

Memo to BobLHead:

I think that you could make blackmail money, big time,
by threatening "Mr. X" with publishing the photo of this "rocker"
wearing that awful brown and yellow glitzy suit. Very Happy

CHEATER!! Mad (just kidding)

Well, of course you're right (and you win), but it's supposed to be a memory-jogger, not a scavenger hunt. However, there's usually a spike in site traffic when I post these, so I know you're not the only one.

I only hope you searched alphabetically. Bouncing Grin

Grace - there are lots of shots of this guy in that outfit out there. It was a famous tour in which they had actual livestock on stage!

As a matter of fact, I did. Hope it makes you feel better to know that I looked at a great majority of your pictures from A to Z. I've never been a rock fan, so I've never gone through your photos before, but I see that you've got other famous people too. I loved your photo of Joan Baez! She was my idol back when I was in high school and college. I still love her voice and her music.

By the way, this guy would never have jogged MY memory, since I've never seen him before. At very first glance, I had thought it might be Glen Campbell, but upon looking closer, it didn't look too much like him either. So, without looking through your website, I would have never guessed.

Well, I appreciate that. That's actually quite an achievement - you may be the first non-rock fan to have ever done that.

There are at least a dozen non-music listings on my site that might be more to your liking, so I hope you got to see those too.

A little more outfits/livestock-on-stage info:

The year-and-a-half-long Worldwide Texas Tour, with stage props like haystacks, ranch tools and Longhorn cattle, began in 1975 in support of the album "Tejas". Literally carting bits of the state along with them, the band brought live cattle, bison, rattlesnakes and cactus on stage - all of which helped gross more than $11.5 million, making the tour one of the most successful ever at the time. The group sold over a million tickets.

Note to Grace: they even wore those types of outfits on one of their album covers:

Yes, I noticed that. The one that stands out is Timothy Hutton (with Debra Winger). When I was a teenager (and for a long time thereafter) I used to have such a tremendous crush on his father, the late Jim Hutton. His television and film career wasn't that great, so I wonder if anyone here still remembers him?

This is purely a guess, but the one on the right looks like a very young Keith Richards.

Well, the fact that I don't like the Rolling Stones' music doesn't mean that I haven't seen their faces plastered all over the place since they first came on the scene way back in the early 60's!

I do like some rock, by the way (Pink Floyd, for example) but I'm mostly a classical music lover. But even though I like to listen to Pink Floyd's music, I have no idea what they look like.

Yes!

I oved that mystery show (Ellery Queen) he starred in! Bouncing Grin

"Ellery Queen". I loved that show too. He played the part of Ellery, and David Wayne played his father Inspector Queen. I wish they would rerun it again.

Glad to see someone else remembers him.

Hey Bob, I found out who the other guy is. It's Brian Jones.

I found it by looking up "British Bands of the 60's", and when I came across a photo of him, I googled him, and I found the picture you posted. The website says he was the original founder of the Rolling Stones (I only remember Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, the others must be less notorious because I don't remember them).

So once again, this was a scavenger hunt (or, as I prefer to call it, "research"). I certainly have no memory of this guy!
