Some of us went to the Myung Ga in Cherry Hill today.
Located in the "Saw Mill Village" on Rt 70.


Here's my review.

It's a good place to eat--service is very friendly and helpful.
Food was plentiful and very tasty.

I liked it and will be going back!


Sorry this isn't very long--got a sinus thing going on and am off to bed.


But we had fun....

The food was VERY good and they had the box lunches I love so much. I wish the place was bigger - we could have a get together there. But alas, as Debby said, even if we took over the whole place, we still wouldn't have enough room.

I encourage all of you to give the place a whirl - you won't be disappointed.

I have been to Myung Ga's before and I really like the food here. I like that they have the box lunches available all the time. I have not found that any place else. The amount of food is very generous and they have the best cucumber kimchi. I bought a separate container to have in the house.

They are very nice people who will take the time to explain menu items and for some meals they will also adjust the spice level. Some of us like ddukbokki and even though it was not on the menu they made a big plate for us. There was plenty of food leftover to take home. We also received a complimentary mackrel.

Sam and Lisa Chon are the owners of the restaurant and are looking to purchase advertisement time on TV.

Myung Ga TV Ad Survey

This was the first time I had the opportunity to eat at the restaurant (although I was lucky enough to be at the Chusok Festival in Cherry Hill earlier this fall and got a kalbi box for dinner while there - Myung Ga had a booth set up at the festival).

I was impressed. As was mentioned before, the food was wonderful and the service friendly and very good. If you had questions about the food, they took the time and seemed glad to explain things to you, to share their knowledge of Korean food.

It really is a shame that we wouldn't all fit for a regular get-together, but Myung Ga is well worth the trip, and if you are in the Cherry Hill area and in the mood for Korean food, it is a place you should visit!

The owners also seemed very eager and excited to share Korean cuisine with non-Koreans, and to grow their non-Korean clientele. It is a great place for someone who has never eaten Korean food, would like to, but is maybe feeling a little intimidated about it: what to order, will it be too spicy, how should I eat this, etc. The staff there will be glad to help you get started!

Oh, and the hae mool pa jun (seafood pancake) I had this afternoon was to die for! Chock full of seafood and very fluffy and delicious!

I had such a good time & the food was fabulous. Their cucumber kimchee was so good, I bought a big container to enjoy whenever I want it. I, too, love the lunch box & the kalbi was especially delicious. Such a pleasant place & the owners could not have been more accommodating. Holy Mackerel they gave us some...fish like that does not pass my lips, but I gave it a little taste. Not too bad!

Seafood pancake (1st try) Delicious!

Owners & staff - Really nice, helpful, friendly.

Small comfortable restaurant. Clean, well lit.

Cold barley tea on the tables - tasty

My mom is not big on Korean food. But this is the place I am going to take her too.
Anything you order, will be fresh, well prepared & delicious.

Also kid friendly. If you have small children, they would be welcomed.

I had their food at the Chusuk celebration too and it was awesome. I agree the cucumber kimchee was AMAZING!!!! The short ribs were soooo delicious. I can't wait to go there for a sit down meal.

Had the bulgogi lunch box for lunch and ordered the chicken/soon tofu for dinner.
They both were soooo good!


BTW--Myung Ga has an interesting difference from any other Korean restaurant I've patronized.

They can customize the spiciness of your dish, using a number scale of 1 to 5.
1 is very mild and 5 is burn your tongue.

I emailed Sam to tell him how much I enjoyed my lunch on Saturday & he wrote back that one of our group was there for lunch yesterday! It was you!!!

I could eat there every Saturday. Wish is was a little closer, but I might just start making the schlep down there, because I love the food!

i'm up in jersey this weekend (wed by 2pm) if anyone wants to go? i know it's a busy weekend so i don't actually expect many responses hehe

I noticed by the menu that there is also a branch in Flushing, Queens, NY so I will have to try to make that one some time.
