Stuck here at the hospital.... white out conditions on the road. Glad I brought my blankey. It's early yet too; only a few inches of accumulation. Only medical and emergency personel are allowed on the road. Roads are bad, visibility is worse. Please stay off the roads and enjoy the lovely view from the warmth and safety of your home. Here's how it looks as of 0130 AM, Vineland, NJ.

As of 7am there was officially 17.8" at the Philadelphia Airport (10 minutes from my house). Here are a few pics I took with my new cell phone at 10 am.

 

I just had the dog out 30 minutes before this pic. The snow was up to her chest. You can barely see her tracks anymore.

 

 

We were only supposed to get 4-6" here in Hackensack.

We haven't gotten a flake.

Glad I missed this storm of the century. All we had here in Atlanta was rain, rain , rain and some more rain. Gloomy.

We got a dusting in NYC.

Taken just before 1 pm. That poor dog couldn't even get in the yard.

My SnowHubby, in the driveway. Now he is almost 6'2". The snow is just above his knees.

LOL She is about 55 lbs and stands 22" tall at her shoulder - that would be one big rat even by New York standards.

BTW - 26.7" of Snow @ Philly International as of 1 PM and

I'm inside making a big pot of hot chili and corn muffins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mmmmmm would taste good with my margarita.

I have ham and cabbage in the crockpot.

 

Man I am at work eating a lunchables and the cafeteria is closed...Are you people trying to torture me!

about 5pm and the snow finally tapered off here.... it's soooooo deep, well over 2 feet. when i drove home from work at 8am, a drive that normally takes 12 minutes took me 1 hour. i had to abandon my car at the corner gas station because I couldn't get down my road. I can't even imagine after an additional 8+ hours of snow how impassible the road must be. on my way home EVERYTHING was closed and there were snow plows everywhere. area rednecks with plows on the front of their trucks are having the time of their lives... and let me tell ya, thank God for them. I imagine most of us here in the backcountry will be stuck in our homes until Monday or so.

I just woke up (I worked last night,) and I'm in my penguin jammies and slipper socks gnoshing on some homemade beef stew for "breakfast". Nummers. Looking forward to playing some Wii with the kids... and busting out the tequila and Dae JoYeong tonight after they go to bed. Tomorrow will be a snow fort day! I'm not normally a cold-weather person, but the novelty of all this snow is not lost on me. It's kinda neat!
