I'm a new member who would like to get together occasionally with other members (especially those who have been watching for a long time) to discuss our mutual love of Korean dramas. I think it would be fun to meet in person rather than just post comments online. I'm curious about how others got hooked on these shows and have lots of questions about the shows, actors, and Korean customs. My latest favorites that I'd love to discuss are City Hall, The World They Live In (aka Worlds Within), and The Man Who Can't Get Married.

I also could use some help in learning to better use this site--I'm baffled by lots of the features. (I'm not even sure I'm posting this in the right forum.) O just wanted to respond because I am in Warminster which is not that far away by car. Unortunately I am not watching any of those but still a KD addict. If you are still searching when I am fully recuperated from knee surgery we can meet and share kimchi and drama

That's a great idea! I never thought about doing that

Doris take a piece of advice from someone who has been doing this a long time - if you wait to do that it will never happen. Someone very wise told me that if you do things by committee nothing every gets done. She was right. My original suggestion stands - pick a date and a place and announce it. Others will post and join you. As it stands now, people are either reading this and waiting to respond until there is something sure OR they are overlooking the topic entirely. I am one of the former. I am waiting to see what day you decide to do this before I even tentatively commit myself to something.

BTW - we do have a gathering happening on January 16th in Mount Laural NJ. If you haven't signed up yet - it might be a good chance to get out and meet some of the "regulars". Additionally our next get together will be the last Saturday in April.

 

I will definitely do the April get together! Anything before will depend on the setting and how long I could sit around. Picking a date sounds like a great idea, Doris!

I see you're from North Wales... that's where my godmother is from so I am not unfamiliar with your location. I live about 90 minutes from you, but if you ever want to do a get together in Philly or at some halfway point, I'd make an effort to attend.

As of now, it looks like we'll meet in Willow Grove, PA, on either a Saturday or Sunday afternoon in February. I'll post the details as soon as plans are finalized.

Warrington is like a mile away from me. If you are going to the Willow Grove cafe meetup, we culd probably travel together.

when i am king of the world... i hope to pretty much be the defacto place for K drama indies.

if you know a nice place, that seats 50, thats in a good location, that has either already gone out of business or just seems like its on the rocks... pls send me a message with address and phone number posted if a sign is in the window.

if a hotel that you know of has a restaurant that is going out of business, or needs a tenant, pls let me know. bc i would like to have fixed banquet hall that will seat 100+.

we are almost done with the preparations to expand to multiple locations competently.. and that doesnt included Cloning Lisa or Me.


There are many many closet K drama fans out there, that I refer to this site, but i think they are still a little shy... jump in

Well don't forget BUCKS PA! I've been looking & found something almost perfect. I was about to tell you about it when a sign went up that a physical therapy business was opening. Grrr.... I'll keep looking (not that I mind driving 36 miles each way for my almost weekly trek to you as it is)!
