It was the writer of Queen Seon Deok that got me interested in that drama – now here’s news of
another top K-drama writer with a new series coming up, only the fate of his series may depend on
QSD’s domination of the 10-11 p.m. Monday time slot in Korea.

SBS has been trying to figure a way to avoid having its good shows go head-to-head with QSD on
Monday nights. They’re experimenting with putting an adult romantic drama, Angel's Temptation, in
the 9 p.m. time slot instead of at 10 p.m. The series has two good actors in it, Bae Su-bin and
Han Sang-jin, both coming off successful, high-rated shows. But according to Dramabeans the ‘9 p.m.
trial’ doesn’t seem to be working. The ratings for Angel’s Temptation have been low. So the next big
SBS Mon. night show will probably have to duke it out with QSD at 10.

That next big Monday night series is supposed to be a Lee Ki-won drama scheduled to start in Nov.
Lee Ki-won wrote Kim Myung-min’s great series White Tower. He’s come up with a medical period
piece called Jejoongwon, about a late 19th cent. medical school that teaches Western medicine and
an unconventional aristocrat who deserts his class to become a doctor. The drama has already been
nicknamed a ‘Joseon-era White Tower.’



 


Name of the series again: Jejoongwon. The stars are Yeon Jung-hoon, Park Yong-woo, and
Han Hye-jin. I hope the writer can deliver – the idea sounds really promising. But that Monday
time slot will be a killer until the end of the year when Queen Seon Deok winds up.

The Queen rolls on.

I'd heard about this one. Park Yong Wu's in it. I'm still mourning his death as Kyung Dae Seung in Age of Warriors.

I love the girl's hanbok!! It's absolutely gorgeous. The drama looks good, but if she wears that hanbok in the drama, that's enough of a reason for me to watch.

Yes, that is the Jumong actress. I think she plays a lady doctor in this one.

Originally scheduled for late Nov., Jejoongwon will now start Jan. 4, after
Queen Seon Deok ends its run.
