I just saw Boys Over Flowers lastweek and almost done with Coffee Prince(luv it!). I can honestly say that I am now officially addicted, and now I'm search of the next drama to watch. Can any of you can give me some suggestions because for sure alot of you have seen different korean dramas. I am into light drama/comedy and love story. I will really appreciate if you can give me the 10 best you have seen. (Taiwanese drama is fine too;) )Thanks in advance guys!

Sometimes the light comedy/drama stuff is mixed in with some heavy drama. On of my recent favorites was "Happiness" - mostly a lot of fun but with a tragic subplot.

Others along this line:

My Name is Kim Sam Soon (probably on everyone's list, and still - in my opinion - the best of the best)

Goong (Palace, AKA the Princess Diaries) - pure fantasy, but very well done. Forget the horrible sequel, though.

Sweet 18

Sassy Girl (Delightful Girl) Choon Hyang

Oh Pil Seung and Bong Sun Yong

Secret Lovers

For action/adventure:

Resurrection/Revenge (My 2nd favorite, after KSS)

Emperor of the Sea (Hae Sin) - An absorbing historical novel

For drama:

Yellow Handkerchief (Still best of the longer dramas - good luck in finding it, though)

I'm Sorry, I Love You

Ireland (A very unusual show)

It is soooooooooo good. It is hard to believe that is Yoon Eun Hye, as in Coffee Prince.

You are going to love this drama. Very Happy

This answer is correct.
Except that just thinking about the star of this series, by Number 5 on the list,
....as you can see....joygant lost it. However, this is the same series. Laugh Out Loud

Added bonus:
You've got your lovable villian ~ Xue Rengui
Your cold-eyed villian ~ Li Wen
Your jealous, nut-case villian ~ Li Kaigu
And the most slime-ball villian of all time ~ Shin Hong
Think of all the fun you'll have.....yelling rude comments at your TV! Very Happy

If this series was on a professionally-made DVD, I would buy it,
no question about it. All 130+ episodes, regardless of the cost.
And I'm not even rich. And I would start re-watching it immediately.
Yeah, it was that good.

YEA, PAY HA! Praise you!

all the kdramas suggested are great - i'd add in fantasy couple, very cute!

for taiwanese dramas i suggest:
Smiling Pasta
It started with a kiss 1 & 2
Devil Beside You
Fated to love you
Hana kimi
Why why love
basically i like to watch Mike He & Joe Cheng! Very Happy

japanese dramas you might want to try Absolute Boyfriend - fun storyline! and the jdrama version of Boys Before Flowers is still my favorite...

Thanks for the compliment! Very Happy

Somehow, the lines of dialogue that I seem to remember the most,
all come from the villian that we love to hate ~ Xue Rengui.

* Hiding behind some rocks and trees, as Namseng and his army
approached the ambush spot, into a narrow valley pass:
"Walk into the mouth of the tiger, Oh men of Goguryeo......HEH, HEH, HEH!"

* After getting the news that his evil Tang forces were defeated by DJY:
"I can't believe this terrible news! I need a dish of steamed dumplings."
(These must have been the ancient equivelent of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.)

* Yelling at poor 'ole Hongpei for doing something wrong. Again.
"You stupid twerp!" (Gotta' love that authentic 7th Century vocabulary!) Rolling Eyes

* And one pretty good comment from the star of the show ~
"Goguryeo (read that: Korea) may be a small country, but we've got a big heart."

All in all...............not too shabby none.

*

Jen,
You have NO idea just how enthusiastic!

DJY has turned me into a crazed stalker!!! It's the best show ever. And even my 9 year old loves DJY. It was just the perfect mix of cast, directing and storyline.

I really liked Golden Apple and Seoul 1945. I really enjoyed Dae Joyoung and hope to purchase it. Oddly...I missed most of the beginning episodes both times it aired on KBS...definitely plan to purchase this!

This is my first time posting (or trying to), so please forgive the delay since you first asked for recommendations. I have most enjoyed the following:

-- Full House (charming actors and story)
-- Winter Sonata & Autumn Tale (the summer & spring series were not as good in my opinion)
-- My Lovely Sam-soon (you must see if haven't yet; has one of the most charming actresses -- Kim Sun-ah --who also appears in City Hall)
-- City Hall (one of the most sophisticated dramas so far, with intelligent characters and dialogue)
-- The Man Who Can't Get Married (loved this; a very sophisticated and original main character who is a pleasure to watch).

Recently started watching "The World That They Live In" (with male lead of Lovely Sam-soon and female lead of Full House, who are now a couple in real life), and this too is one of the more modern (less hokey) dramas I've seen to date.

Enjoy!

Doris W.
