Wow, this one sounds like a gut wrencher (after MSMD, I'm not sure I can handle one of those). Although, their wardrobes look very snazzy!

Yes... you can view this in action on the "Korean Women and the Men who Love Them" thread. Very Happy

As a huge Bi fan of course I'm looking forward to this, but especially because it doesn't sound like a comedy in the least bit. Bi's 2 dramas were comedic (well, Sang-doo was for the most part). I want to really see him put to the test and see how his 'serious' acting skills are. This sounds like a possible sobfest though.

this drama is from the same writer as the drama "i'm sorry, i love you" which is an excellent drama. but after watching the first few episodes i found it boring. my girlfriend (a big bi/rain fan) watched the whole thing and said it got better towards the end.

i found a promo interview of the drama featuring bi and shin minah.

I am currently watching this one. When I am done with it I will release it to the VC.

After watching 6 episodes I must say I admire Rain's acting ability. A Love To Kill (so far) is a very dark drama and Rain's character is not too nice. The first scene shows a young girl getting ready to jump off a bridge because he dumped her. He goes over to talk to her and basically tells her to jump that he never loved her. She jumps and he jumps in to rescue her. After he revives her he tells her she is an idiot and walks away, leaving his friends to console her.

I think it was 3 or 4 episodes before actually saw him smile. LOL And the dirty old women among you will enjoy the many times he takes off his shirt.

So far I am recommending this drama. I will let you know if I still feel the same after I am done.

Uh, all I can say is that Chan-woo (BYJ's character in FIRST LOVE) with one arm tied behind his back, could have knocked out Rain in the first round... Very Happy

I just finished episode 13 and as soon as I dry my tears, I will tell you my thoughts.

*sniff sniff*

Skimmer you are absolutely correct when you say this is a sob fest. Thus far I have seen elements that reminded me of both Sorry I love you and What Happened in Bali. Rain appears to have matured as an actor. His acting in A Love To Kill makes him appear older and wiser. During his 2005 concert tour he always seemed to have a twinkle in his eye, like he was just waiting to pull a prank on someone or to laugh at the next joke. You do not get to see that side of him in this at all. Even what was supposed to be a light hearted scene between him and the female lead was some how heart breaking.

Manny, I don't think it is fair to compare Rain and BYJ. While they are both fantastic actors, they each have their own distinct style. I am not too sure I would find BYJ believable as Kang Bok ku (A Love To Kill) just as I would not have found Rain believable in the role of Joon Sang (Winter Sonata).

So far - 2 thumbs up for A Love To Kill!

I liked the first half better than the second....but that's just me....

I bought the series with the intention of watching it then donating it to the VC. It took KBS FOREVER to send it to me. Don't get me started on KBS e-Store. Suffice to say I will NEVER order from them again.

LOL the first half was darker than the second half is proving to be.

Well...I certainly was not referring to BYJ as Joon-sang, but back in 1996, he could certainly hold his own as a character playing a tough guy role, and FIRST LOVE was what I mentioned, not WINTER SONATA...and no, and Rain definitely would not have qualified to play Chan-woo either....

Don't get me wrong, I liked Rain's character, but I still feel like he was the wrong actor for the part....

Ok I finished it. What can I say? It is definitely a 3 tissue box series. The acting was superb and the storyline great. When you need a good cry - this is the series to watch.

I have only the most positive things to say about A LOVE TO KILL. First, it is probably one of the best written dramas I have seen. Scenes make sense; dialogue makes sense; actions make sense. The acting is excellent. I am a major fan of Bi/Rain & had avoided seeing this because I was afraid I wouldn't want to see him playing someone tough. Instead, I saw him as a really superb actor. He has several highly emotional soliliquies where he is talking to someone he loves who is unconscious. Those scenes convinced me that we are dealing with someone who is much more than just the dancer & singer for which he is most famous. He is really a very well-rounded talent.

The rest of the cast is wonderful & I thought their roles were written well. Each of the four major characters had good words to say & their actions were believeable. I am always happy about that!

Finally, I always comment on the music, because I feel the OST drives so much of the spirit in these KDs. It is excellent!

Finally got around to posting a review of this.

I loved it, thought it was definitely NOT a sunny, happy story.

Rain was exceptional in this--I couldn't believe it was the same guy as Full House.
Very believable--after a while, I forgot about his looks and just watched the character unfold.
Kept wanting him to redeem himself....just...wow....

Story was well-written, not a dragging scene in sight.

The second girl--I liked how she wound up being the narrator for the last episode.

The best friend character--I thought of Peter Brady every time he came on screen! Laugh Out Loud

Definitely worth seeing if you have the chance. d6z2
