I happened to find this book, and it looks really good.
I like that she shows you the ingredients, helpful when you're in the store surrounded by Hangul. Razz
Also she covers a lot of K-drama favorites you may know.
Worth the buy but you can preview it here. Wink

You can check out her blog and videos here as well.

I love her website (with video demonstrations). She's entertaining to watch. I posted her website on a recipe thread that Kelly started, I think ...

Found it: http://forum.koreandramas.net/topic/2026/

A real post is to come but just let me share that I have delved into the world of cooking Korean food head-first in the past week...

As you can see-

I find that my apreciation for certain dishes can reach a new level after trying to cook them ... it enhances the whole experience.

Very Happy Thanks guys, I made dol sot bibimbap- I just have to have it with the hot stone pot and the way that makes the rice crunchy... mmm!!! It came out great!! I am not ashamed to say that I bought many of the ingredients at h-mart. In it is rice (duh!), shigeumchi (korean spinach), kong namul (bean sprouts), toraji (bellflower root), carrots, eggs and seaweed. You also add the gochujang (red pepper paste) and some sesame oil. The spinach, bellflower, and bean sprouts I bought already prepared, just like you may have as a side dish. The carrots are easy, just julienne them, and the hot pot cooks them a little bit anyway. The eggs you just fry sunny-side up. The seaweed comes in sheets so you just cut it into strips with scissors!! Put it in the stone pot, get it hot, then take it off add the pepper paste and mix it up!! I had a little kimchi on the side too which makes it a complete meal. Wink

Later on I'll share my adventures in making dduk mandu guk (Mandu (korean dumpling) soup with rice cake)! That also came out great and was sooo easy to make. Smile Sorry but I realised while eating that I forgot to take pictures. Sad

Incidentally, Bob, you may be familiar with this technique- as my digital camera batteries were dead, I realised I could still take a picture of my culinary creation by pointing my laptop at it and snapping a shot with Photo Booth! (Macs are indeed handy!) But for whatever reason, everything in Photo Booth is mirror image, hence the backward label and (if you had been in my kitchen) the surprising sudden appearance of a countertop to the left of the stove were previously a wall existed! Laugh Out Loud

I made her oi sobagi, spicy beef soup and soon due boo soup. I'm Korean and I must say that the recipes were spot on. You all should try her recipes. Rarely have I come across someone who teaches and has great recipes.
