He's a very cool guy and interesting to watch both on the screen and in real life.

Song Il Gook's family is a historical drama. If you've ever watched "The General's Son", you may know that the story was about a real person, Kim Du Han, whose father (The General) was Kim Jwa Jin, a famed Independence Movement leader. What you may not know is that Kim Du Han, a gangster then later a politician, was Song's maternal grandfather, which makes him the General's great-grandson.... His mother is also somewhat active in politics. For these reasons, some speculate that Song also might run for office someday.

I noticed him not long after I started to appreciate Korean Dramas, not realizing that he never had a first lead role in any production until "Jumong", he just loomed so large in the ranks of Korean actors.

No one on the screen is more charismatic than Song Il Gook.

I think his mother is an actress.

I absolutely loved him in JUMONG. I really liked his role in Emperor of the Sea, but in Jumong he was the star...a really riveting performance. There was a scene in Jumong where he is drowning in mud & there is no doubt the boy took in a ton of that stuff. I like him a lot & am looking forward to seeing more of him in these very physical, hero roles.

he's always running triatholons & said he hates the cameras always following him because then he has to do his best so he's not embarassed on camera!!

maybe he will get into politics - his new wife is a lawyer i believe! He was great in Terms of Endearment!

one of the KBS shows had interviewed him recently after that female reporter accused him of hitting her in the face and he was very upset by it but really cute doing during the interview talking about his wife-to-be and his mother saying she heard it on tv before he told her....

you know, i was wondering why there was no thread too Nancy. I'm just LOVING him in EOTS! I'm head over heels for his bad-guy character Yum Moon. He's very moving in the character and as I mentioned elsewhere, I feel very sorry for him, despite the fact that he is Choi Soo Jong's character's nemesis.

He's yummy! My daughter mentioned to me yesterday that he looks like Dae Joyeong's "brain guy" (Mimosa.) Isn't that cute?!?! I almost fell down laughing. But she's right. There's that sexy top lip thing with both of them.

Another edible hottie to add to my lust list.

(Don't worry, Soo Jung will always be my one true love!)

That's Yoo Geon. ("Hello, God", "Bad Couple") or Yoo Gun.

The best movie he was in for me was Art of Seduction, hilarious!

Song Il Gook is in China filming his new historical drama "Kingdom of the Winds". KBS is going to air it from September.

Oh yes, he is delectable in Jumong - especially when he grows his mustache and beard.

That isn't his wife...he married an attorney in a traditional wedding ceremony earlier this year. You are right that the actress did marry her love from YH. I believe he has been in the army.

Yeah, I was crushed when I heard about the secret wedding. They only released a few formal portraits from the event. there are like NO real pics from the wedding on the net. dernit!

And, has anyone noticed his horsemanship? He rides as well as any of our American Western stars. I would guess that he must have his own stable. No one rides that well without a lot of practice.
Or, maybe he learned as a kid, since he is from a wealthy family.

He is one of my favorites. He and Chae Si Ra saved EOTS for me. Everyone else seemed to be phoning it in.

I've often wondered about this. Several of the high profile historical drama actors seem to be very skilled horseman. If anyone knew the answer as to where these guys are getting their skills, I'd love to know.
