A Few notes:

-There will be a 50-50 raffle $5 a ticket or 5 for $20. The winner receives half the money collected. The other half goes to the server fund.
-Every get together there are people who reserve and don't show. I wind up chasing them down but even then some don't pay. (Two people still owe me from last get together). Additionally, every get together 1 person winds up not paying. I am sure this is an oversight and not intentional but the total collected is always short by 1 meal. In an attempt to avoid these issues, everyone is encouraged to pay for their meal in advance. You can, of course, still pay at the door if you choose. Your meal cost can be sent to me via Paypal or postal money order only. I have been burned by a few personal checks so, unless you clear it with me first - no personal checks. If you choose to use Paypal, add $0.80 for their processing fee (total cost $20.80). You can use the top donation buttons to send the Paypal payment or send the Paypal payment directly to mtlandis@yahoo.com. Make sure to note that it is your payment for dinner.
-RSVPs will be accepted from March 1st thru noon (EDT) April 18, 2010. Attendance is limited to 70 people. Once we reach 70 people, we will start a waiting list - 1st come, first serve. Please note that you guys are not restricted to just 1 drink each. I am just trying to get an idea of what will be popular. For instances, I would have gotten a bunch of Lemon-Lime and Root Beer but would have never thought to buy Ginger Ale.

Also note that we will be buying generic soda unless we hit a REALLY good sale on the name brand stuff. If you just have to have name brand I suggest you bring it with you.

Lastly, coffee and tea will be available thru out the get together. No need to bring supplies with you unless you want something particular.

 

I'm nobody to tell anybody what to do about the drinks for
the get-together, but why not make things simpler for everyone?

I picture Teresa buying 17 cans of diet cola, 3 of orange soda,
2 bottles of some energy drink, 11 bottles of water, etc, etc,
and then at the day of the get-together, there's either not enough
or too much of something.

Why not have people bring their own drinks? Bring what you want.
A couple of cans of diet cola, a few tea bags, or special power drinks,
cans of iced tea, your home-made lemonade or your own favorite brand
of bottled water. If there's a set up for ice or hot water, too, everyone
will be happy. (It's a church location after all.) No alcohol and no problems.

Cripes......like Teresa doesn't have enough to do that day?
She shouldn't have to worry about being ~ the soda lady ~ too.
I'm not trying to be bossy.....I just think that this would be simpler all around.

Plus.... instead of carrying all these assorted drinks to this event,
