Seriously though I know many of you folks aren't used to that much snow. Good luck with the shovelling!

Our snowfall ended here in Levittown about 2:00-ish. Official snowfall in my backyard was about 15". Was having camera difficulties so this was all I could get.

This is Ruby - our 55 lb Foxhound...loves the snow but even gladder that we made a running path for her.

I've heard Jim Kosek on New York City's all news radio station 1010 WINS doing the Accuweather forecasts for ages and he's never raised his voice or acted weird.

Apparently, he got in some trouble for his outburst. I found this online:

"The Jim Kosek rant video has been removed by Accuweather, but you can still watch it at: www.youtube.com (I hope Jim didn't get his weenie slapped by the Accuweather suits.) (2/5/10)"

Ouch!

Bob- gotta love your smart-alecky posts. Seriously though, I can't believe it completely missed you guys. That's bizarre!

Terezia- Down here in South Jersey, we're "lucky" if we get a few inches. I'm far enough south that it's 20 minutes in either direction to bay/ocean. Usually when everyone else gets snow, we've got rain. I'm loving every minute of it! I hate the cold weather, but if it's gotta be cold and everything is gonna be all dead and gray, I love the idyllic look of the snow. Currier and Ives baby. Love it!

Jim- yup, nothing worse than crippling rain...

and Min Joo- that video is freaking hysterical! I hope he doesn't lose his job over it. I was a teensy bit over the top though.

Took the kids out in the snow and the little one kept getting trapped because it was up to her chest. everyone in a while I would hear "help, HELP I"M STUCK!!!" and I had to go fish her out. The snow swallowed her boot at one point. Poor thing was out there in her socks.

Finally retrieved my abandoned car from the gas station. They were nice enough to not tow it. That's one of the nice things about living in a small community. They recognized my car, thank goodness!

Think we're gonna venture out into the big bad world for some ice-cream and maybe, JUST maybe, we'll find a loaf of bread. Otherwise I'll just pick up some flour and make some homemade yeast bread. Mmm.... I can smell it now!

Don't envy any of you guys in the snow! Yeah, poor Jim and his rain.... Laugh Out Loud

See, this is why Canada has great hockey players. They learn proper form from shovelling snow..ie stick handling. Wink

Jamie's just bragging now...but wasn't it a few weeks ago England had a "huge" snowstorm? Of course that's nothing compared to what we get but seems to me people were "struggling to get to work". Laugh Out Loud

12 more inches forcasted for tues night & all day wed. I have had my fill, thank you.
We helped my son move into a new apt on sun. What fun! My husband slipped while moving the fridge and fell backwards into a snow bank. The fridge landed on top of him. I was thankful at that point for the snow because thanks to it, he wasn't hurt.
I loved the wacky weatherman! You know, the stations want the reporters to get all excited and come up with new ways to report on these storms. I don't know how his bosses could be upset - how many ways can you describe snow? Laugh Out Loud

I heard Jim Kosek today on the radio talking about the upcoming storm. He didn't get excited, though I thought I heard the tiniest bit of animation in his voice - as if he wanted to - but when you're reporting for NYC's all-news station, I guess you have to "Stifle it, Edith!"

I think our West coast/Southern members should let us move in with them.Razz

Come on down, MinJoo. I'd love to have someone cook for me and clean my house. Laugh Out Loud

I'll cook but I don't clean. And I want to go to Disney world. ^_^

Actually Bob, it really is just his thing. Check out the interview video at the bottom. Razz

Here's what it looked like in Philly. For those of you that know the city, I live just south of 5th and Girard.

I took these pics (with my phone) right after I walked the dog between Noon and 1pm so it was still snowing at the time.

My dog is less than a foot tall so he's not a fan of big snow drifts... We walked around the corner since some of the sidewalks had been cleared but once we got to the first uncleared house, he looked at the 2 foot wall of snow and then looked at me and then turned around and walked back the way we came. Laugh Out Loud

This is my street, my door is the blue door on the far left:

This is my street looking the opposite way:

My friend Jess who lives across the street in front of her house:
