Finally had a chance to watch this!


Review~

Theresa's honey Ji Sung plays one of the male leads. It was interesting to watch his protrayal of someone struggling to do right in a world where all around him are evil. He was quite good--I enjoyed his performance. I can see why T thinks he's cute--even if he's not my cup of tea.

It seems like every single character was good looking--even the criminals were good-looking.


Kim Byung Sae was in this one, as Michael Wang. He also played in Mr. Duke and Phoenix. I always enjoy his acting. He has a certain air that draws your eye to him. Even when he's playing the bad guy--I root for him. His command of English is first class--though a little stilted.

Choi Ran's performance just blew me away in this one...I still can't believe she's Hoon-sook's ditzy aunt. She's definitely "on" in this one.


The other male lead Lee Byun Hun has a charismatic screen presence...or maybe it was just me! I can see why he's so popular in Asia---definite star quality! I am adding him to my list of favorite male actors.

(I had a light bulb moment watching this and realized where my fascination with Asian men comes from.
LBH reminds me of my very first crush when I was 6!
Even then I had exceptional taste!!!! )

Song Hye-Kyo was, as always, superb. She is definitely someone whom I'd pay to see.


The chemistry between LBH and Song Hye-Kyo was there in spades--not sure if it was acting or real, since they were dating for a year. Either way--it makes for an excellent drama, with one exception;

I got a bit of a shock during the early part of the drama when they had that shower scene in the prison!
And the language was just a bit crude.

I realize that they were trying to portray this man's seamy life realistically, but I watch K-dramas because they are usually much more wholesome than American TV. Yep--I'm all about the censorship, baby! I enjoy not having to worry about that kind of stuff.

The violence was also kinda gruesome. There were constant homages to "The Godfather" which after awhile let me know when to FF thru some scenes. Since I sat thru countless showings of "The Godfather" trilogy in the barracks--the outcome for one of the characters was obvious from the beginning.


So if you're not bothered by that kind of stuff--this is a keeper.
I think the guys might like this one.

I won't be buying this one since I like to have my video collection PG-13 or cleaner.

But I would be interested in seeing All In 2 if they make it--unless it's more of the same.
Someone will have to let me know!


Final score; A for acting, C for language and violence.

This is real quality stuff, GREAT acting and American scenes once again in VEGAS,
but also a little LA thrown in. Where do they manage to find such bad American actors? Is it a payscale problem?
The mafia type boss was not so great.

Adding this to list of things to watch....

I watched this a long time ago and the shower scene is definitely drool worthy!! This was the first nonWYBE kdrama I watched. I loved it!! Not boring at all and the soundtrack is wonderful!!
