Synopsis (From Soompi.com) -- As a kid, all Kim In Ha ever did was to follow his gambler uncle around and cheat for him. As a high school student, he hangs out with his friends at the basement of a theater. When he gets to know Choi Jeong Won, a model student and also the son of a very rich family, In Ha tries to tempt him into the low-life world In Ha lives in. Min Soo Yeon (Song Hye-Kyo) is the daughter of a theater worker who becomes orphaned when her father dies. In part of revenge of their friend's injury and Soo Yeon's father's death, In Ha and Jeong Won set up a murderous fire. In Ha serves nearly ten years, and works as a casino security personnel with Yoo Jong Goo after release. Jeong Won, who got excused from the crime, comes back from the US to work at the casino. Soo Yeon, who studied to become a nun, gives up her dream but in turn, she becomes a casino dealer at the same casino. The three meet again, and In Ha and Soo Yeon fall in love. When danger lurks In Ha, he runs away to the US, leaving Soo Yeon behind. They eventually meet again in Las Vegas, but become separated again when Soo Yeon thinks that In Ha is killed. Jeong Won, thereafter tries to win Soo Yeon's love, knowing that In Ha is still alive. In Ha returns to Korea as a millionaire gambler also gambling for Soo Yeon's love. The fierce competition in the casino world is thoroughly seen through this drama, as the ambitions of two men clash with each other: for money, success, and even women.

Finally had a chance to watch this!

Review~

Theresa's honey Ji Sung plays one of the male leads. It was interesting to watch his protrayal of someone struggling to do right in a world where all around him are evil. He was quite good--I enjoyed his performance. I can see why T thinks he's cute--even if he's not my cup of tea. Wink

It seems like every single character was good looking--even the criminals were good-looking. Rolling Eyes

Kim Byung Sae was in this one, as Michael Wang. He also played in Mr. Duke and Phoenix. I always enjoy his acting. He has a certain air that draws your eye to him. Even when he's playing the bad guy--I root for him. Blushing His command of English is first class--though a little stilted.

Choi Ran's performance just blew me away in this one...I still can't believe she's Hoon-sook's ditzy aunt. She's definitely "on" in this one.

The other male lead Lee Byun Hun has a charismatic screen presence...or maybe it was just me! a8u1 I can see why he's so popular in Asia---definite star quality! I am adding him to my list of favorite male actors.

(I had a light bulb moment watching this and realized where my fascination with Asian men comes from.
LBH reminds me of my very first crush when I was 6!
Even then I had exceptional taste!!!! Wink b9l3)

Song Hye-Kyo was, as always, superb. She is definitely someone whom I'd pay to see.

The chemistry between LBH and Song Hye-Kyo was there in spades--not sure if it was acting or real, since they were dating for a year. Either way--it makes for an excellent drama, with one exception;

I got a bit of a shock during the early part of the drama when they had that shower scene in the prison! Jaw Drop b2o7
And the language was just a bit crude. Sad

I realize that they were trying to portray this man's seamy life realistically, but I watch K-dramas because they are usually much more wholesome than American TV. Yep--I'm all about the censorship, baby! Laugh Out Loud I enjoy not having to worry about that kind of stuff.

The violence was also kinda gruesome. There were constant homages to "The Godfather" which after awhile let me know when to FF thru some scenes. Since I sat thru countless showings of "The Godfather" trilogy in the barracks--the outcome for one of the characters was obvious from the beginning.

So if you're not bothered by that kind of stuff--this is a keeper.
I think the guys might like this one.

I won't be buying this one since I like to have my video collection PG-13 or cleaner.

But I would be interested in seeing All In 2 if they make it--unless it's more of the same.
Someone will have to let me know!

Final score; A for acting, C for language and violence.

Ive watched this three time.

*shhh, the shower scene was one of my FAVORITE K drama moments ever*
Very Happy

This is real quality stuff, GREAT acting and American scenes once again in VEGAS,
but also a little LA thrown in. Where do they manage to find such bad American actors? Is it a payscale problem?
The mafia type boss was not so great.
