I have searched the actor section up and down and since there is not even one thread about my favorite KD guy, Lee Ji Hoon - I decided to remedy that!! That way I can get my LJH fix in one place instead of cycling back and forth between this board and the official LJH website - which, by the way, is a very nice place to visit and has an English board for those of us who are clueless on how to read, write or speak Korean!

For those who might not know him, among other things, he played Do-hyun in Wonderful Life and has been in several movies (Lovely Rivals and Wet Dreams 2) and was also in "Pretty Woman", which I was told is a longer drama 60 or more episodes (?). He is currently working on a drama that is set to air in Korea next month - according to Esther Kim, who I have had several conversations with, says it translates directly as something like "Billy Jean, come back", but the English title is not yet known.

He is also a talented singer - starting out when he was still in high school. He has done numerous albums, including a collaboration with his friends, Kang ta and Shin Hye Sung (of Shinhwa), in "Group S" - that's where the "I Swear" music video that I posted in another thread came from.

Hi Esther - glad you made it here! You made me feel so welcome on the LJH website - hope you feel just as welcomed here!

Lucas - Eugene is great in Wonderful Life - at least I think so. I really thought she played Se-jin very well, showing the growth and change of the character...so be distracted by her, by all means...! Just notice how nicely LJH plays Do-hyun, at least a little bit! If you like Eugene so much, I think you might get jealous though of the chemistry between her and LJH!

When I saw Wonderful Life for the first time (I've watched it three times now...tee hee! I'm nothing, if not thorough in my passions!), I was not aware that LJH had been in a long term relationship with Eugene in real life. It was over by the time they were in WL together, or so I have read, but those two characters, Do-hyun and Se-jin really have chemistry - I wondered how they developed that! Now I know!

Hope more people will get to know and enjoy Lee Ji Hoon through this thread -- of course, if I were smarter, I'd have kept it a deep, dark secret so as not to have to share him with anybody else!



One thing I forgot to mention - LJH seems to be very approachable to his fans. There is a place on his website where he posts letters to his fans - in Korean! - but young, the "queen" of his website, very kindly translates them into English for those of us who are "Koreanly-challenged". This summer he also had a camping weekend with his fans...yes, he actually was there and camped with his fans...don't think I'd ever see an American actor do the same...LOL! Very cool guy.

Actually, the guy in Goong is Joo Ji Hoon!

My daughter and I loved him in Goong, when we watched it this summer - but although they have similar names and look a bit alike, they are different guys! Joo Ji Hoon was a model before he came to acting - I think I posted an article about him somewhere on this board over the summer, after watching Goong - but this place is sooooo big...don't remember exactly where and too lazy to search right now.

Actually, Joo Ji Hoon is so hot now because of Goong that more than half the searches I have done online to find out more about Lee Ji Hoon, I have gotten photos and stories of JJH instead! A few nights ago I was on some "asian celebrity database" and it had one thread that said something like "great photo of Lee Ji Hoon" - this after I had looked at hundreds of threads trying to find new things...then when I clicked it and looked...it said..."oops, sorry, I meant Joo Ji Hoon" and had HIS photo. AAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHH!

Lee Ji Hoon is in a new MBC drama airing soon! Someone at his website said they think it starts in December or January, but no one has translated info for us recently...

It is called "Billie jean is not my Lover" and in the publicity stills there seems to be a Michael Jackson vibe going on in the way LJH is dressed - kind of like how MJ dressed in the early to mid 80's, very retro, a subdued MJ without all the sequins! Don't know much about this drama at all, but I will post the MBC website address. Maybe someone can tell ME what it is all about.

I think this is a MBC cable channel drama that starts on 12/26. My traslation of this title is "Billie Jean Look at Me"

It is about a teen star HyeSung (LJH) who had to leave the entertainment business because he was caught lip synching. It was exposed by his classmate, Banghee, who became jealous of HyeSung going out with another girl.
10 years later, Banhee is a TV drama writer, and HyeSung is a bum. Banghee is determined to make HyeSung a superstar.

The HyeSung character is supposed to imitate MJ's Billie Jean dance perfectly in this drama.

No, I can't tell AT ALL that Koreans like MJ!! tee hee. That video is just too much! Although MJ has turned into a very wierd and troubled person, back in his "Thriller" and "Billie Jean" days, he was an incredible talent. I remember seeing "Thriller" on MTV for the first time and being amazed at the music, the story being told and the dancing...very exciting.

You didn't by any chance see if this is a "long" or a "short" drama? If it's a "short" one (16 or 20 eppys), maybe I will have a better chance of seeing it soon because it will take less time to record and be uploaded somewhere!

If MJ is still very popular, and this drama is fun and well-written and JH does his usual stellar job, then this should be a good one to watch and will be very successful for JH...keeping my fingers crossed!! Go, JH... or should I say "Fighting!"?

This is a definitely a short drama. How short, I don't know for sure but I will find out soon enough for you.

Joan Marie, Bi (Rain) really is a great dancer. His concert in Las Vegas is sold out. But I would not pay $100-$250 per ticket. Rain's conert is too expensive!!!

Here are the details...just in time! I finished watching the unsubbed version of Billie Jean Look At Me a few days ago. Posted in the soompi forums fansub section is a notice that this drama (Hello! Miss) is on their tentative schedule to fansub for 2007.

Two names are listed after some of the actors/actresses as I understand they haven't decided yet what the characters will be called...? Seems kind of last minute, doesn't it? At first I read the filming was supposed to begin on Feb 15th - then another post on soompi said, no, it was moved to a Feb. 18th filming start.

When I watched Wonderful Life, I didn't pay much attention to the story. I was so focused on
Lee Ji-Hoon and Eugene. True!! They have that unbelievable chemistr. It is unfortunate that they are no longer together. I still wish that they will someday find it in their hearts to get back in each other's arms.

anyway, I'm glad LJH has a new series coming up. Seems like his two friends have left him and pursued singing with Shinwa! I guess he is better singing solo so it probably would matter that much now that Hye Sung and Kangta have gone to another group.

I like him very much singing with Kangta and Shin Hye Sung, but you are right, he really does not need them. I think he does very well as a solo artist. When you listen to the three of them performing live, not in the studio, LJH by far has the strongest voice - very clear and with a very large range. How does a grown man hit those high notes??!!
