Ok, so I am not liking the Baron or his daughter much. Too bad Oon Hyuk stabbed the wrong guy.

 

Well, I going to try to be PC on this...but, aren't the Koreans who have some social standing being more Japanese than the Japanese. And the real Japanese are sitting back and laughing. I much prefer the Baron as the monk with a patch, but he wasn't much nicer then either. Seems to me he torched his wife's "who ha" in that one. Give him time I'm sure he will surface himself.

BTW did you recognize the weasel is in this series too? The guy with the bell who woke everyone up to tell them there was an accident at the mill. He'll probably become a bigger weael as the show progresses.

It happened again...forgot it was on and forgot to pop the tape back in after watching BB...

Please please - can I have a recap of Thursday's ep? I also missed the first ep and feel lost.

OMG I didn't even notice! Probably because I was distracted about 5 million times!!! I'll have to tape it and watch it when it's quiet next time (about 4am) and pay closer attention!

Awww...it's been a rough couple of weeks...can't you help a sister who's down on her luck with a recap? I so want to watch this drama but missed the first one and no one helped on that one....

I thought the town watchman that woke everybody up with the bell was Minister Yoon from IYSS. I gotta admit, he does look like a weasel with no beard.

Andrea - so much goes on in these episodes that it is tough to summarize it for you. Tell you what though. After episode 5 airs, Bob should be sending me a disk with episodes 1 thru 5 on it. I will make you a copy and send it along.

Yes, yes, Andrea, I gathered... I'd do the summaries if I could, but unfortunately for you, I only taped Episode 2 since I was able to see the 1st and 3rd eps live. If I had the tape it'd be a piece of pie to go back and just jot down some notes. Maybe someone else can help you out though.

Here's the main points I remember from last night:
Oon-hyuk's sister dies while saving him from the big accident at the mill.
The Baron Moon won't go down or let his brother go and orders that only the injured can leave the mill to go to the hospital, noone else can leave and no one from outside can get in. Therefore the families, who have heard about the accident, can't get in to find out what happened to their family members.
In the meantime he says the party with his daughter playing piano etc will go on.
Lord Yi (?) has an insider at the mill and wants them to revolt and come up during the party to catch the baron off guard, especially since he wants the copper mill etc back for himself.
The Japanese lords discuss who will get the mine next since the contract is almost up, they seem to want to let the Koreans take one another down first.
The wanna-be Japanese woman Ame Kaori (Baron Moon's mistress) (Okja from MSMD) is mean and kicks Dong-woo's teacher out of the nice room and makes her sleep with the maid.
That same teacher visits Lord Yi that night in secret, saying she wants his heart.
A mill worker stirs everyone up and they rush out to storm the party as a mad mob.
Meanwhile Oon-hyuks parents come in to find their daughter dead, Oon-hyuk wanders off and ends up with the mob.
They get to the party and confront the Baron who tells them to leave but Oon-hyuk gets upset over his dead sister and stabs the Barons brother, Moon Dong-gi, in the leg.
Although afterward he is fine and asks the Baron to let the child go, The baron says no and Oon-hyuk is stuck in jail where his family is not allowed to see him.
Little Ke-hee is upset over what might happen to Oon-hyuk as well.
The young fat kid that also works in the factory and got the signed record in the first episode strikes a deal with one of Lord Yi's people to give him more insider info on the rebellion.

I think that's most of it, pardon if there's a mistake. Other people are welcome to fix stuff and/or add on!

The first episode appears to be then end of the story. The following episodes explain how they got to that point in their lives. So just follow along with the series and you should end up at the beginning. ?????? Got it? I'm so confused....

You really haven't missed much Andrea.

only two things to add, the boy was trying to stab the Baron and the brother jumped in front of him.
and the police beat the boy silly and interrogated him asking him if his sister was a communist.

This is so not looking good for this family.

I didn't think I was going to like this show what with the lack of Haboks (sp) and swords.
but while all the shooting is a little unpleasant the story is really interesting.
