I have been told by a somewhat disgruntled member that there are other members of this group that feel they cannot state their beliefs for fear of being attacked. While I do not believe this claim, I would like to remind all the members here that everyone is free to express their opinions without fear of being attacked. HOWEVER, if you cop an attitude, expect others to get an attitude with you.

Also, at anytime I am always willing to listen to private complaints, comments, etc. Any member here is more than welcome to e-mail me at mtlandis@yahoo.com or PM me here. If your issue is with me or you are not comfortable with that - we have another Admin, Git Jae Mi as well as several Mods. Anyone one of these people would be more than glad to listen to whatever you have to say.

Apparently, some people are scared to say they enjoy eating lamb, for fear that I'll chase them down and drown them in mint-sauce.

But I won't.... I've stopped doing that!

Well my guess would be that the LCH fans are worried about dissing BYJ in case the BYJ fans become rabid.

I don't always agree with the staus quo, yet I've never been threatened or insulted or personally attacked. I've never seen anyone else either, unless it was through a PM. Have you? I mean you live really far away and MOST of us live in the Delaware Valley, NY, CH, or CA. How can we threaten someone who lives so far away? ( if you were'nt threatened then I apologize, but your post was lacking ) As Jamie asked, "EXPAND?"

Isn't this being just a bit dramatic? I'm just asking. Again, this is my own personal opinion which I know I'm free to express. hug

See??? This is why you all should take a page from Greg's book like I did (Yes, I am admitting that!). I stopped reading any of the topics that could be referred to as 'serious.' Laugh Out Loud What's the point? LOL, I have enough things that get my blood up in my life as it is! Stick to the TBB board!

Are you saying I've been RABID here? e5k1

OVER BYJ? ME? Come on.....just because I KNOW he's the best -- just because you all WISH LCH was as hot and popular -- just because I can't stop talking about him or wanting to see pics of him -- just because his career is going so well -- just because everyone wishes he would come to America so they could all bask in his glory -- just because he has his own BEAR likeness......that would never make ME mean to anyone who didn't agree with me....would it? Hmmmmmmmmmm d6s1

ok, ok...so maybe I can be called RABID -- but everyone is entitled to their own opinion here -- I never purposely bit off anyone's nose for saying something less than kind about my BYJ -- I mean, I do hold myself to a higher standard than that -- and I don't want to taste anyone's yucky old nose anyway......honest! e9t3

And Jamie, I don't like the taste of lamb, so you are safe too!!! Laugh Out Loud

I will go out on a limb tho' and say one thing about this whole thought so don't anyone take this the wrong way: I am not in favor of "locking" discussions on our board. If someone comes into a discussion late in the day and has something good to add only to find that discussion LOCKED several hours earlier than they were able to get online, then what good is an open door policy of being able to say your thoughts? Sad

Just my opinion -- because I don't like seeing any discussion limited by any one person anywhere --- I'm all about free speech -- Sad

If someone doesn't like a discussion here, they can always just ignore it -- there are plenty of wonderful threads to read otherwise. So I am not sure why discussions would ever need to be locked??? Confused

i agree with the locked topics. unless the topic gets way out of hand and like i'm going to go murder you there shouldn't be a need. i personally LOVE that "mark all topics as read" button at the top of the threads!

If you are referring to the Dowloading thread - it was locked because there was a lot of "behind the scenes" stuff going on. The thread was old and tired but it was still being used by one person in particular to start trouble.

I rarely lock threads. I think there are only 2 or 3 on this entire board. (Out of roughly 2000 topics). If I think something is getting out of control - whether publically or privately, I do try to put a stop to it.

I can't think of anyone who has been personally attacked on the BB. I don't know what's been going on behind the scenes, but it must be pretty horrible to contemplate.

People may get mad, or feel wronged, by what other people say from time to time, but they shouldn't feel like they're being attacked personally, just because someone disagree with them. Still, everyone should be sensitive to each others feelings (although we may all slip up in this from time to time) and choose their words with care. Otherwise, what is a very friendly place, could devolve into festering pit of subdued resentment and animosity. Consider the BGB... Rolling Eyes

If I disagree with someone elses' point, I try to craft a counter argument based on fact, theory, and information, rather than emotional appeal or sarcasm (you don't get my sarcasm, anyway Rolling Eyes ) Disagreement and argument do not constitute a personal attack.

I think the board manages to use patience, tolerance and humor when discussing it's many view points. e8n2 This kind of criticism always makes for good rebuttal and helps unify the group. LOG e5x2 ON!!!

I agree with Jimmy-turts... However, when someone is bitchy, and condescending, and then posts as FACT something that is clearly opinion, I am forced to correct it.. And if they are belittling, then my sarcastic belittling of them will come out in kind.

I've seen many posts from people posting lots of points of views - mostly opinion, some may be actually wrong. I've only seen one person post deliberate untruths and say they are FACT, and then ignore all the counter arguments directed against him/her.

Regardless of the actually subject matter, the style of his/her posting is a classic case of "trolling"

You can use the generic masculine, Jamie.

Where? Where? By Angry Dad or by Nara?

I barely have enough time to just catch up with the TBB board - all I see here are the warmest and funniest people...well, except Nara.

Sincerely wish everybody can feel comfortable and relax here. The real world is already full of headaches, don't generate more. hug

No....it was Da-Jueng...she got sick of everyone hitting her in the head and went on an all-out attack! Laugh Out Loud

I agree with Lucas and 4crab...life is too short and there's too many other things in life to get you upset. I come here to chill out and have fun...if I want to feel attacked or bothered, I'll deal with my family. Laugh Out Loud

The generic masculine predates you, Jamie. There are still some survivals - and I almost always use it - but feminism has all but killed it off.
